Welcome to Mid-valley Chapter STC

Welcome to the Society for Technical Communication, Mid-Valley Chapter's web site. Our chapter serves the southern Willamette Valley of Oregon and includes over 50 professionals in the field of technical communication. We work in a wide range of environments, from lumber mills to ECAD R&D facilities.

The purpose of this site is to present information about the Mid-Valley Chapter, provide a forum for our members to keep up-to-date with the rapidly changing field of technical communication, and improve the quality and effectiveness of the technical communication profession. From this page you can access information about the Society for Technical Communication and our chapter, plus educational and employment opportunities.

The TC as Trainer
Many technical communicators write training documents of one kind or another, yet have little or no idea of the principles or techniques involved. This short workshop introduces the basics for writing good training materials with tips on how to integrate these methods into all your relevant documentation. You will also have the opportunity to apply these techniques in activities included in the workshop.

About the Presenter

Carole Hall, MA, Instructional Technology, has worked as a technical communicator & trainer for over three decades, primarily as a contractor through her company, HallTech. During that time, she also developed and instructed more than two dozen technical communication & training courses/seminars for three universities, as well as specialized courses for companies.
